Cat Dental Services Back

By age three, dental disease affects over 70% of cats, primarily due to periodontal disease, which can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. When periodontitis or gingivitis occurs, bacteria may spread via the blood and impact other important organs. At your cat’s annual physical examination, the veterinarian will examine the oral cavity to the best of their abilities. If you have any specific concerns regarding your cat’s dental health, please make sure to inform the veterinarian.

We recommend routine preventative care against dental disease. This includes brushing the teeth (pet specific toothpaste and brush, at least 3 times a week), dental diets, dental treats, water additives, dental wipes and dental sprays.

If your cat has a dental issue requiring dental extractions, or your pet is recommended a dental cleaning, we can provide those services at Colborne Veterinary Clinic. With our newly renovated dental suite, we can provide dental scaling and polishing, dental radiographs, dental extractions and oral mass removals (for the most part).

Please discuss dental care with one of our veterinarians at any of your pets’ examinations!
